I'm an avid jigsaw puzzler, and all the reviews I've seen for print-on-demand jigsaw puzzle brands have all commented on the poor quality of the pieces and the inadequate puzzling experience. Not ok.

So we're focusing on PRINTABLE puzzles and puzzles that can be solved on a screen.

Of course, feel free to hook up your designs to print-on-demand platforms. For 16 piece puzzles for a kid's birthday, that's probably just fine. But that part just isn't covered here.

And trust me, I'll be back with an update just as soon as I find a high quality print-on-demand option for larger piece counts too!

How do printable puzzles work?
Just cut out out the pieces and assemble!

You can also solve them digitally. Just import the piece images into a Canva document, Powerpoint, or online whiteboard, then move them around to solve!
Do I need Canva Pro?
Nope! Every technique used here is available in the free version of Canva. Anything that's not possible in Canva, we'll handle in Photopea, which is a FREE program.
Wouldn't it be annoying to cut out the pieces?
It's great scissor practice for the little ones! Great for fine motor skills, and a way to make learning more engaging.

It's true that more unique jigsaw puzzle type pieces will be more time consuming to cut out, but the benefit here is that by creating unique shapes to your pieces, you've created what's called a "self-correcting" activity. There's only one match, essentially. That's great for educational purposes (and just generally more fun from a puzzling perspective). So your customers will be willing to cut them out.

Above 20 pieces of a jigsaw-style piece cut though, you're probably more likely in the realm of digitally solving the puzzle or using something like a Cricut to cut the pieces out.
Is Photopea scary/hard/expensive?
Photopea is a FREE program, and although it looks a little intimidating at first, I do my best in the course to make it as easy and not-scary as possible. And Photopea will allow you to do some things you just can't do in Canva. We'll use it to slice our puzzle pieces quickly and accurately. And we'll use it to create custom, hand-made jigsaw puzzle connectors that you can
